This is an open museum, in which about 30 traditional buildings including thatched and shingled houses have moved or been restored to reproduce the traditional life in Hida. Various kinds of traditional daily tools and articles are displayed in the houses and demonstrations of Ichii-ittobori Craving, Hida Shunkei Lacquerware and herb dyeing are given by the artisans.
