The Takayama Museum of History and Art holds a number of historical resources to do with the history of the Hida region, as well as introducing the history and traditions of the castle-town, Takayama. The buildings are from the Edo Period (1603-1868) including the manor house of a certain timber merchant called Yajima, and warehouses previously belonging to the Nagata family.
