Pottery
Yamada-yaki Earthenware
Yamada-yaki began when a potter from Seto in Owari (present Aichi Prefecture) opened a kiln in nearby Yamada Village. Different from the public kiln of Shibukusa-yaki, the Yamada-yaki kiln was a private kiln which baked simple products which the farmers and townsfolk could use in their daily lives, such as mortars, pots, and sake bottles.
