And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand? & what dread feet? What the hammer? What the chain? In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? what dread grasp Dare its deadly terrors clasp? When the stars threw down their spears, And water'd heaven with thier tears, Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the Lamb make thee? Tyger! 	虎 虎よ、虎よ、あかあかと 夜の森に燃えさかる。 いかなる不滅の手または眼が おまえの恐ろしい均整を造り得たか。 いかなる遠き海の底また空の果てに お前の眼の火が燃えていたか。 いかなる翼で巨人は翔け いかなる手でその火をつかんだか。 いかなる腕が、また技が おまえの心筋を綯い得たか。 おまえの心臓が打ち始めたとき、 いかなる凄き手が、いかなる凄き足が。 いかなる鎚が、いかなる鉄鎖が、 いかなる溶鉱炉でおまえの脳髄が、 いかなる鉄床（かなとこ）が、いかなる凄き握力が 脳髄のけおそろしき想念を鍛えたか。 星ぼしがその槍を投げ捨て その涙で天をうるおしたとき 造り主はおのが所産を見て微笑んだか。 仔羊を造ったものがおまえを造ったのか。 虎よ、虎よ、あかあかと 夜の森に燃えさかる。 いかなる不滅の手または眼が よくも恐ろしい均整を造り得たものだ。
