Miya River
The Miya River, with its source in the Kaore Mountains, flows through the center of the town and on down to the Japan Sea. Kanemore Nagachika reconstructed the river bed to look like the Kamo River of Kyoto. Several bridges cross the river, such as the Naka Bridge and the Kaji Bridge, and the area comes alive with the morning markets that are held along its banks nearly every day.
