At the southern point of the Northern Alps, Norikura straddles the boarder of Hida Provence and Shinshu Provence (present Nagano Prefecture). One can enjoy nature’s wonders by exploring its 23 peaks, 7 lakes and 8 plains. From the many villages at the foot of the mountain, there are numerous hiking and trekking paths, originally made for the many worshippers who continue to frequent the area.
